I started this blog for a few different reasons.
- To record my experiences from the start as I grow my skills.
- To help me solidify what I’m learning; technique wise and on a personal level.
- To offer an informative narrative for those training, or interested in training.
- Pure enjoyment
Other randoms about me
- Loves painting and drawing
- Loves linguistics and learning languages
- Loves to write (obviously)
- Enjoys a good bullet point list
- Cheesecake is my weakness (strawberry cheescake… double weakness)
- Has a serious case of wanderlust
- Half introverted/half extroverted. Basically, I’m socially awkward half the time
Anyway, back to the point of this blog…
I wanted to learn some form of self defense so I used the website Thumbtack to narrow down my options. I ended up taking a couple of private lessons from Ryan Sternberg at The Cellar Gym, then got a membership shortly after in February. I got hooked quickly after trying it. Now I’m committed to training, and as I train more and more it is becoming a part of who I am.
*The painting above was made by one of my ancestors from Norway. I’m related to someone who can not only paint well, but someone who chose to paint a man punching a bear in the face? Too cool.
